Ordering

There are a couple of different options for ordering:

Sometimes we have finished instruments listed in our "available now" page with descriptions and prices. These items are set up and ready for shipment. We also highly encourage folks to come visit the shop and try available instruments whenever possible. We are happy to host anyone interested and offer a studio space where instruments can be test-driven to facilitate the unique fit between player and instrument.

You can also order a custom-built instrument. Please feel free to contact us with your ideas, thoughts, and questions. Costs vary a great deal, but we do offer some base prices to give a general idea of what you'll be looking at. Wait time for these instruments is usually 8-12 months.

Hardanger d'Amore - $3,500

Mandolin - $1,800

Guitar (flat-top) - $1,800

Guitar (carved-top) - $2,500

Commissioned Instruments

After discussing the details of your custom instrument with Dev, we will send a confirmation form with the requested specifications, total cost, and projected timeline. Sign and return with a booking deposit of $250 to hold your place in the workshop schedule. When Dev is ready to begin your instrument, he will reach out to request a 1/3 of the cost of the instrument (minus the $250 deposit), which will cover the cost of materials (woods, geared pegs, strings, etc.). The rest of the cost is due upon completion. We are open to payment installment plans as well, however, and happy to discuss options. Completion time for custom instruments is usually 8-12 months.

Instrument Cases: Cases are not included in the base price. We generally have you order your case of preference and have it sent to our workshop so we can ship the instrument in it.

Payment Options: Payments can be made through PayPal, Venmo, or by check.

Shipping: Upon completion and receipt of balance, Dev will ship your instrument to you. Shipping charges are extra and will be calculated at that time.

Warranty

The full cost (minus shipping charges) is refundable within a 7-day approval period once you receive the instrument. We also offer a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner, which protects against potential defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and tear or damage due to improper climate and humidity control is not covered under the warranty.
